Study¶

A study is a documented, scientific investigation that tests a hypothesis. It is usually into a medicinal substance, be it a small molecule or a biologic. Studies point towards a research activity and are often unique and non-routine. The primary output of a study is the study report. A study is more project-based then a more routine, lab-based experiment with an owner (study director) defined beginning, end and outcome (study report and conclusions)
