Assay Parameter¶
Assay Parameters form the basic vocabulary of an assay definition. They are formed by the association of a parameter type along with a parameter role and are used to define services and processes for structured data capture.
The parameter type defines the validation rules such as whether the cells in a data entry sheet will only accept numeric or textual data or provide a look up to a dictionary. The role is used to describe the parameter types usage in the assay. For example a parameter type of molecule may be associated once as a Glossary-Subject and again as a control with a role of Glossary-Variable.
The Assay Parameter definition can be extended to include for instance an Glossary-Alias for the parameter type as well as default units and default values.
