Data management for biological research

BioRails is a commercially backed, open-source biological information management system designed specifically for pharmaceutical discovery research. BioRails core version is available free to use and the source code is available for download under the GNU Public License. Support services are available from The Edge Software Consultancy Ltd .

Currently Biorails is a 3.0 version combining unstructured and structured data management. Its aims to be a cooperative environment for data sharing and management rather then a replacement for a lab notebook.

This site provides technical knowledge base and project management for BioRails. This aims at providing a open and transparent view of the project and is where ideas are discussed, refined and validated. The sister http://BioRails.com site concentrates on BioRails as a supported commercial product with support services, addressing and discussing market needs and trends. We encourage community members to submit articles for publication and to peer review our work. Whilst the wiki is a collaborative document, you will need to register to contribute.
